Job summary

Daikin Applied Americas is seeking a full-time Service Technician II in Houston, TX to diagnose, repair, and perform preventive maintenance on commercial and industrial HVAC equipment. You will service rooftops, chillers, boilers, and air handling systems, with opportunities to lead junior techs and expand your skill set.

You will participate in ongoing training, maintain safety compliance, and communicate with customers about system status before, during, and after service calls.

Qualifications

• 3+ years related experience with increasing responsibility or equivalent education/experience
• High School Diploma or GED
• HVAC certificate or technical training equivalent
• Valid Driver’s License with acceptable driving record
• Rotational Emergency Call Support as required
• Work visa sponsorship is not available
• Local license(s) and/or training card as required by law

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, repair, and perform preventative maintenance on commercial/industrial HVAC equipment.
• Service rooftop units, chillers, boilers, and related components.
• Identify and prevent potential problems to avoid breakdowns or callbacks.
• Inspect systems to verify functionality and perform warranty service applications.
• Lead Level I technicians with hands-on troubleshooting guidance.
• Learn centrifugal rebuilds under Lead and Level III technicians.
• Record billing, timecards, inventory, and other reports in a timely manner.
• Explain technical information to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Participate in training and maintain required certifications and safety standards.
• Maintain clean work area and follow all safety policies.
