Job summary

Trane Technologies in Baltimore is hiring an Equipment Application Engineer II to manage the equipment portion of projects, validating selection, pricing, discounts, and submittals, and driving budget performance.

You will support sales, develop submittals, and ensure correct equipment is prepared for order entry, while maintaining vendor price negotiations and providing post-order technical support.

Qualifications

• Associate or Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field required or equivalent experience.
• HVAC knowledge preferred, with experience in testing and commissioning.
• Flexibility to work outside normal hours and travel as needed.

Responsibilities

• Optimize/validate HVAC equipment selection, size, voltage, and options from plans and specs.
• Evaluate cost savings and anticipate cost issues across projects.
• Validate scope via plans, specs; plan EQ/VPP dollars and quantities.
• Support sales with preliminary/final submittals and revisions as needed.
• Negotiate prices to control expenses and maintain competitiveness.
• Prepare equipment for order entry and verify pricing; reconcile job costs.
• Provide technical support after order close, including startup and warranty.
