Job summary

Trane Technologies in New Jersey is hiring for an Application Engineer II (Equipment). In this role you will be responsible for the equipment portion of projects, validating equipment selection, pricing, discounts, and submittal processes to meet project goals.

You will evaluate cost savings, support sales, and prepare preliminary and final submittals. You will review plans and specs, coordinate with vendors, and help ensure accurate job costs and on-time delivery.

Qualifications

• Degree in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 2+ years HVAC project management or estimating experience, or 5+ years without a degree.
• Familiarity with HVAC systems and temperature controls preferred.
• Valid driver's license with clean record and ability to travel as needed.

Responsibilities

• Optimize/validate equipment selection, size, configuration, and options.
• Evaluate possible cost savings and cost problems on projects.
• Validate project scope by reviewing plans, specs and documents.
• Support sales with preliminary and final submittals; coordinate changes.
• Prepare equipment for order entry and reconcile job costs.
• Provide post-order technical support, start-up and warranty service.
