Job summary

Trane Technologies in South Carolina is seeking an Application Engineer (Equipment) to lead equipment selection, pricing, and submittals for diverse HVAC projects. You will validate configurations and align with budget objectives.

The role involves cost analysis, vendor negotiations, and post-order support for installation, start-up and warranty service. A two-year minimum in HVAC project management or five years with equivalent experience is expected, along with a driving license.

Qualifications

• Minimum two years in HVAC project management or estimating, or five years with equivalent experience.
• Practical experience encouraged for non-degree candidates.
• Familiarity with HVAC systems and temperature controls preferred.
• Willingness to work outside normal hours.
• Valid driver’s license for 12+ months with clean record.

Responsibilities

• Optimize/validate HVAC equipment sizing, configuration, voltage and options from plans and specs.
• Evaluate potential cost savings and cost problems on projects.
• Review scope and validate EQ/VPP breaks, quantities and configurations.
• Support sales with submittals and coordinate job cost consensus meetings.
• Negotiate prices with vendors to optimize expenses.
• Provide post-order technical support for installation, start-up and warranty.
