Job summary

Trane Technologies in Baltimore is hiring an Equipment Application Engineer II. You will validate equipment selections, pricing and submittals, and drive strategy to meet budget objectives.

The role supports sales, negotiates with vendors, and ensures smooth project execution from order entry through startup. The position requires HVAC project management or estimating experience, an engineering degree, and a driver’s license.

Qualifications

• HVAC project management or estimating experience required.
• Candidate may have equivalent education and work experience.
• Flexibility to work outside normal hours as needed.
• Valid driver’s license for at least 12 months without major violations.

Responsibilities

• Optimize/validate equipment size, configuration, voltage and options from plans and specs.
• Evaluate possible cost savings and problems across projects.
• Validate project scope, quantities and configurations; plan EQ/VPP breaks.
• Support sales with preliminary and final submittals and related changes.
• Negotiate prices with vendors to optimize expenses.
• Prepare equipment for order entry and reconcile job costs.
• Provide post-order technical support for installation, startup and warranty.
