Job summary

Henderson Engineers is seeking Lead/Senior Mechanical Engineers specializing in HVAC design in Chantilly, VA. The role supports six market sectors and collaborates with Henderson Building Solutions to deliver exceptional client experiences.

You will mentor junior staff, lead projects from concept to completion, and ensure quality across drawings, specs, and analyses while applying codes and standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in relevant field; 11+ years experience (lead) or 15+ years (senior). PE license may count toward 1 year.
• Advanced knowledge of engineering design, codes, and standards in A&E.
• Proficiency with Bluebeam Revu and CAD/HVAC software.
• Experience mentoring/leading design staff and collaborating across disciplines.
• Strong understanding of earned value, contracts, and construction processes.

Responsibilities

• Mentor designers and engineers across teams and practices.
• Lead design efforts from concept through project completion.
• Solve complex engineering problems and coordinate with multi-discipline teams.
• Ensure drawings, specs, and analyses meet scope, schedule, cost and quality.
• Develop tools, resources, and standards for the practice.
• Support project delivery and risk management activities.
