R.E. Michel Company, LLC in Raleigh, NC is seeking a Counter Sales I to handle customer service, invoicing, and order processing in a fast-paced HVAC supply branch. You will assist customers in person and by phone, generate invoices, and support delivery/pickup operations.

The role includes merchandise loading, warehouse duties, and maintaining display areas while upholding safety and grooming standards. This is a full-time, non-exempt position at our Raleigh location.

Qualifications

• Exemplary verbal communication and interpersonal skills in person, over the phone, and with deliveries.
• Strong attitude and customer service focus to serve branch customers.
• Proficiency operating a computer and Prophet 21 software.
• Basic math including markup vs gross margin and its impact on sales and expenses.
• Ability to read invoices, catalogs, stock numbers and descriptions to identify items.

Responsibilities

• Provide fast, friendly customer service in person or by phone.
• Greet customers and maintain a positive branch atmosphere.
• Enter customer orders in the system and ensure on-same-day processing.
• Pull orders, load trucks, and assist with loading for customer delivery or pickup.
• Prepare invoices, CODs, and related paperwork accurately.
• Process payments and follow money handling procedures.
• Handle returns and warranties on the same day they are received.
• Maintain clean, organized self-service areas and branch displays.
