Job summary

LONG Building Technologies, an HVAC controls provider, seeks a Controls Technician to troubleshoot and program temperature control systems per project specs. You will install, warranty, and support emergency procedures in commercial HVAC environments.

You will program databases, calibrate systems, create graphics, train customer staff, and maintain as-built drawings while pursuing service contracts. Travel to jobsites is expected; strong analytical, customer service, and teamwork skills are

Qualifications

• 1 year temperature control startup, checkout, and service experience.
• Ability to legally drive a company vehicle.
• High aptitude for computer systems or mechanical systems.
• Knowledge of HVAC, control systems, building automation, electrical systems, energy management, engineering, installation, and construction procedures.
• Programming and troubleshooting with KMC, Distech, Tridium/Honeywell, and other equivalent systems.
• Strong analytical skills in solving software and integration challenges.
• Ability to interpret mechanical plans and specifications.
• Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and willingness to accept responsibility and accountability.
• Strong customer service and analytical skills.

Responsibilities

• Program databases for all supported systems to meet sequences of operation and manufacturer recommendations.
• Perform calibration and check-out of control systems and ensure commissioning obligations are met.
• Create control graphics and provide labor for GUI delivery per LONG standards.
• Instruct customer personnel on operation and maintenance of temperature control systems.
• Provide information to update drawings and keep as-built records.
• Advise service sales manager of additional sales potential and solicit service contracts during start-up and training.
• Other duties as assigned.
