Job summary

LONG Building Technologies is seeking a Controls Technician to troubleshoot and program temperature control systems per project specs. You will install, support warranty, and handle emergency procedures within the commercial HVAC domain.

Role requires startup experience and strong understanding of HVAC/building automation, with opportunities for growth through certifications and a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• 1 year temperature control system start-up, checkout, and service experience.
• Ability to legally drive a company vehicle.
• High aptitude for computer systems or mechanical systems.
• Knowledge of HVAC, control systems, building automation, electrical systems, energy management, engineering, installation, and construction procedures.
• Programming and troubleshooting skills with KMC, Distech, Tridium/Honeywell, and other equivalent systems.
• Strong analytical skills in solving software and integration challenges.
• Ability to interpret mechanical plans and specifications.
• Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and willingness to accept responsibility and accountability.
• Strong customer service and analytical skills.

Responsibilities

• Program databases for all supported systems to meet sequences of operation per LONG standards.
• Calibrate and check-out control systems and verify commissioning obligations are met.
• Create control graphics and provide GUI labor/expertise per LONG standards.
• Instruct customer personnel on operation/maintenance of temperature control systems.
• Update drawings and maintain as-built records; submit redlines to engineers.
• Advise service sales on additional sales potential and solicit service contracts during start-up and training.
