Job summary

LONG Building Technologies is seeking a BAS Controls Service Technician II to troubleshoot and program temperature control systems, perform emergency and preventative maintenance, and support FDD-driven service offerings. The role includes mentoring junior technicians, providing customer guidance, and ensuring high standards of service and documentation across installed systems.

Qualified candidates have 2+ years in field ops, an associates in computer/electronic tech or 3–5 years TC system

Qualifications

• 2+ years of field operations experience.
• Ability to legally operate a company vehicle.
• Extensive knowledge of HVAC, control systems, building automation, electrical systems, energy management, engineering, installation, and construction procedures.
• Proficient programming and troubleshooting skill with KMC, Distech, Tridium/Honeywell, and other equivalent systems.
• Aptitude for computers and/or mechanical equipment and a strong drive to self-teach and expand knowledge.
• Strong analytical skills in solving software and integration challenges.
• Ability to interpret mechanical plans and specifications.
• Ability to independently handle multiple tasks simultaneously and willingness to accept responsibility and accountability.
• Strong customer service and analytical skills.
• Possesses effective communication skills (written and verbal).

Responsibilities

• Provide inspections and assessments of the conditions of control systems for physical damage, wear and tear, and signs of degradation.
• Perform preventative maintenance such as cleaning, part replacements, software updates, or system optimizations to minimize the risk of failures and malfunctions.
• Troubleshoot system issues and implement solutions.
• Communicate with customers to answer inquiries, offer guidance, and resolve technical issues.
• Educate system users about the proper function and upkeep of products.
• Provide pricing and quotes for potential small projects or upgrades.
• Utilize FDD platform to evaluate faults, diagnostics, and building performance and confirm task resolution.
• Update drawings and keep records of equipment for as-built documentation.

Education

Associates degree in computer/electronic technical and 1 year's temperature control system start-up, checkout, and service experience or 3-5 years temperature control system start-up, checkout, and service experience.
