Job summary

Johnson Controls is seeking a skilled technician in the Phoenix area to lead commissioning and troubleshooting of HVAC systems, using Johnson Controls tools and configurations, and to provide service call support that adds value for customers.

You will calibrate systems, document work, and communicate progress to contractors and customers while following safety standards and training.

Qualifications

• Requires a 2-year degree in electronics, mechanical systems, HVAC, or related field, or 2+ years of industry experience.
• Knowledge of HVAC controls systems and facilities management.
• Ability to present technical information to diverse audiences.
• Leadership to support mechanics on non-complex building automation equipment.
• Proficiency with PC and HVAC software programming.
• Ability to program HVAC control software.

Job Overview

• Troubleshoot and resolve basic mechanical, electrical, and controls issues.
• Respond to warranty calls and complete required documentation.
• Calibrate systems using electronic test equipment.
• Maintain administrative records: timesheets, expense reports, as‑built documentation.
• Communicate job progress to JCI contractors or customers.
• Follow safety standards and training.
• Recommend solution improvements and upsell opportunities, including quoting support.

Qualifications

• 2‑year degree in electronics, mechanical systems, computer technology, HVAC, or related field, or at least 2 years of industry experience.
• Knowledge of HVAC controls systems, facilities management systems, site preparation, peripheral equipment installation, and servicing techniques.
• Strong interpersonal skills, ability to present technical information to diverse audiences.
• Leadership skills to support mechanics on non‑complex, non‑critical building automation equipment.
• Proficiency with PC and HVAC related software programming.
• Ability to program HVAC control software.

Compensation & Benefits

Hourly rate: $26—$35, determined by experience and market data.

This position includes a competitive benefits package.

Additional compensation may be considered for exceptional candidates.
