Responsibilities

• Perform assigned system commissioning using Johnson Controls configuration and commissioning tools.
• Troubleshoot and resolve basic HVAC mechanical, electrical, and controls problems.
• Respond to basic warranty calls.
• Provide the highest level of service to solve building inefficiencies and resolve service‑related items.
• Load system‑level controller software and perform basic commissioning and system diagnostics from system‑level controllers to end devices (sensors, actuators, etc.).
• Complete all required commissioning documentation.
• Keep management, JCI contractor, or customer informed of job progress and issues.
• Calibrate systems using basic electronic test equipment.
• Complete administrative tasks including timesheets, expense reports, and on‑site documentation.
• Document changes and provide information for as‑built documentation.
• Communicate with the JCI contractor or customer upon arrival and before leaving the work site.
• Follow all safety standards and attend required safety training.
• Maintain a high regard for employee and subcontractor safety.
• Provide recommendations and solutions to ensure the facility runs efficiently, including upselling opportunities.
• Provide quotes to support recommendations and solutions.

Qualifications

• 2‑year degree in electronics, mechanical systems, computer technology, air conditioning, or a similar field, or at least 2 years of industry experience servicing electronic and/or mechanical HVAC systems.
• Knowledge of HVAC controls systems, facilities management systems, site preparation, peripheral equipment installation, and servicing techniques.
• Effective interpersonal skills to represent Johnson Controls ethically and professionally to customers and other contacts.
• Ability to explain technical information to technical and non‑technical people.
• Leadership skills to support mechanics working on non‑complex, non‑critical building automation equipment on a job site.
• Proficiency in PC and ability to program HVAC‑related software.

Compensation & Benefits

Hourly rate: $23.00–31.00, determined by education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities. This position includes a competitive benefits package.
