Job summary

CBRE is seeking a Project Designer to prepare clear design documentation for Building Management Control Systems, focused on HVAC controls, using project specs and drawings.

The role involves creating diagrams, cable drawings, submittals, and performing basic electrical calculations to ensure safe operation and compliance with standards. Strong communication and organizational skills are essential.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma, GED, or trade school diploma with 2-3 years of job-related experience. In lieu of a diploma, a combination of experience and education will be considered.
• Associate’s Degree in Mechanical Design Technology or related field. Bachelor's Degree in HVAC/R or related field preferred.
• Ability to comprehend, analyze, and interpret documents.

Responsibilities

• Create riser diagrams, flow diagrams, material lists, sequence of operations, panel layouts, termination details and equipment schedules.
• Create cable pull drawings.
• Create submittals and O&M manuals.
• Perform basic electrical calculations to ensure system operation and safety.
• Perform sizing calculations for control valves and dampers.
• Select components based on availability, project estimate, job requirements, regulatory compliance and engineering standards.
• Lead by example and model behaviors that are consistent with CBRE RISE values.
• Work within standardized procedures and practices to achieve objectives and meet deadlines.
