Job summary

Johnson Controls is seeking an HVAC Controls Systems Designer to support design, programming, commissioning, and documentation of building control systems. You will work under established standards to ensure the system meets client requirements and is clearly communicated to internal teams and subcontractors.

Responsibilities include selecting hardware designs, software programming, creating drawings and schedules, ordering materials, coordinating factory-mounting, loading and commissioning

Qualifications

• Minimum of three years of experience with installing and/or commissioning controls systems, including system-level controllers.
• Working knowledge and experience using Microsoft Office.
• Demonstrated knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and control systems.
• Demonstrated technical aptitude.
• Demonstrated advanced computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Select hardware designs from the standard design library for flow diagrams, sequences of operation, bills of material, network layouts, and electrical schematics.
• Perform software programming using established standards as the basis of design.
• Coordinate the creation of drawings and equipment schedules for submittals and installation.
• Select, order, and track materials for assigned projects and coordinate factory-mounting processes to align with project schedules.
• Assist with loading and commissioning system and network-level controllers, validate overall system functionality, and troubleshoot issues with subcontractors and other trades.
• Gather field changes and create as-built drawings and software; prepare documentation and manuals for system operation.
