Job summary

Johnson Controls, Inc. is hiring an HVAC Controls Systems Designer to support design and programming of HVAC control systems under supervision.

You will translate project requirements into hardware designs, software, submittals, and installation documentation while assisting commissioning, troubleshooting, and basic warranty response. The role involves preparing submittals, BOMs, and operation manuals; collaborating with field teams, subcontractors, and customers to ensure project success.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant engineering field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Experience with installing and commissioning controls systems, including system-level controllers.
• Demonstrated knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and control systems.
• Demonstrated technical aptitude and advanced computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Design HVAC control system hardware and software per project requirements.
• Select hardware from standard design library for BOMs, diagrams, layouts, and schematics.
• Prepare detailed submittals and documentation for customers, consultants, and field team.
• Perform software programming per established standards and project needs.
• Coordinate drawings, equipment schedules, and operation manuals.
