Job summary

Johnson Controls is seeking an engineer to design hardware and program software for HVAC control systems, under supervision. You will provide submittals, communicate design details to customers and installers, and respond to basic warranty calls.

The role involves selecting designs, coding to standards, coordinating drawings, ordering materials, and assisting with commissioning and site training. A strong mechanical/electrical/control background is essential.

Qualifications

• Experience with installing and/or commissioning controls systems including system-level controllers.
• Demonstrated knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and control systems.
• Demonstrated technical aptitude and advanced computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Design hardware from standard libraries, specify BOMs and electrical schematics.
• Perform software programming following established standards.
• Coordinate drawings and equipment schedules for submittals and installation.
• Order and track materials and coordinate factory-mounting processes.
• Assist loading, commissioning, validation, and troubleshooting of systems.
• Create as-built drawings and documentation for system operation.
• Keep project stakeholders informed of progress and issues.
