Job summary

Johnson Controls is seeking an HVAC Controls Systems Designer to design and program HVAC control systems under direct supervision, translating project requirements into hardware designs, software, submittals, and installation documentation while supporting commissioning and warranty response.

Responsibilities include selecting hardware, preparing detailed submittals, and coordinating drawings, schedules, and manuals for customers and the Johnson Controls field team.

Qualifications

• University degree with relevant experience in controls design or equivalent.
• Experience installing/commissioning controls systems, including system-level controllers.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical and control systems.
• Demonstrated technical aptitude and advanced computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Design HVAC control system hardware and software per project standards.
• Prepare submittals and documentation for customers and field teams.
• Perform software programming and update drawings, schedules, and manuals.
• Assist with loading, commissioning system controllers and troubleshooting with subcontractors.
• Collaborate with consultants, field teams, and customers to keep projects on track.
