Job summary

Johnson Controls in California is seeking an HVAC Controls professional to design, configure and operate complete building control systems with a focus on HVAC controls. You will develop software, commission systems and coordinate submittals with project teams to ensure quality and timely delivery.

The role requires knowledge of control theory, building automation, and low voltage systems, with opportunities to travel to job sites and advance within a safety-conscious, collaborative environment.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in a related technical field with two years of relevant work experience required; or equivalent work experience (with no degree) as a commercial HVAC Controls Technician, Engineer, or Installer
• Demonstrated knowledge of the HVAC industry.
• Demonstrated knowledge of control theory, automatic temperature controls, building automation systems and other building subsystems from a design, installation, and/or commissioning perspective.
• Demonstrated experience of low voltage building, wiring and systems.
• The opportunity to travel to job sites outside of the area.

Responsibilities

• Designs and configures building control systems as defined by the contract documents.
• Develops and tests software programs necessary to operate the system as per the project requirements.
• Coordinates the creation of necessary drawings and equipment schedules for submittals and installation.
• Assists in the loading and commissioning of all system and network-level controllers and troubleshooting as needed.
• Keeps management and stakeholders informed of job progress and issues with data-driven dashboards.
