Job summary

Johnson Controls seeks an HVAC Controls Systems Engineer to design, configure, and support complete building control systems, including related low-voltage subsystems, to meet project requirements. You will collaborate with project teams, customers, consultants, and subcontractors to deliver high‑quality solutions and successful commissioning.

Qualifications include a Bachelor’s degree in engineering with 3+ years in HVAC/building automation, knowledge of Niagara Framework, BACnet and LON, and

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering and at least 3 years of experience.
• Knowledge of the construction or HVAC industry.
• Experience with control theory and building automation systems.
• Experience integrating low‑voltage building subsystems using LON/BACnet.
• Experience with Niagara Framework-based systems and JACE controllers.
• Strong communication of technical information to non-technical audiences.
• Proficient drafting tools and computer skills.
• Ability to support commissioning and field coordination.

Responsibilities

• Design and configure technically complex HVAC building control systems.
• Create flow diagrams, sequences of operation, BOMs, network layouts, and schematics.
• Develop and test software for building control systems.
• Prepare drawings, equipment schedules, and submittals.
• Select, order, and track materials for projects.
• Support factory-mounting, controller loading, and commissioning.
• Validate system performance and troubleshoot with subcontractors.
• Provide field change info for as-built drawings and software updates.
• Keep project teams and customers informed of progress and decisions.
• Assist with site-specific training for owners and operators.
• Support value engineering to improve cost effectiveness.
• Maintain safety focus on job site.
