Job summary

Johnson Controls in Indianapolis, IN seeks an HVAC Building Controls Systems Engineer to design, configure, and commission complete building control systems focused on HVAC. You will create diagrams, sequences of operations, and schedules, coordinating with teams to ensure quality and schedule adherence.

The role requires an Associate/Technical degree (Bachelor’s preferred) with 3+ years in HVAC controls, building automation, and drafting tools. Travel to job sites is required.

Qualifications

• Associate or Technical degree required; three years of relevant experience if no degree.
• Knowledge of HVAC systems, building automation, and control theory.
• Experience integrating low-voltage subsystems and using drafting tools.

Responsibilities

• Design, configure, and commission complete building control systems for HVAC.
• Develop diagrams, sequences of operation, and equipment schedules.
• Coordinate drawings, submittals, and material tracking for projects.
• Support field teams and assist in system validation and commissioning.
• Provide progress updates and owner/operator training as needed.
