Job summary

Montgomery College, Rockville, has an immediate need for Building Equipment Mechanic II. The work schedule is Monday - Friday, 6:30am – 3:00pm, in a bargaining, non-Exempt grade 25 role focused on boiler room and HVAC systems.

The position requires five years of experience with commercial HVAC, a Maryland Stationary Engineer 3rd Grade License, and Section 608 Universal Certification, with a salary range stated and a benefits package available.

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED required.
Five years of progressively responsible HVAC experience.
MD Stationary Engineer 3rd Grade License and Section 608 Universal Certification required.
Ability to read and respond to work orders for multiple buildings.

Responsibilities

Operate boiler room equipment including pumps, boilers, water treatment and chillers.
Receive, troubleshoot and resolve work orders for building systems.
Perform preventative HVAC maintenance and system upgrades under supervision.
Track work orders in the database and ensure documentation is complete.
Replace ceiling tiles, assist with roof repairs, and fabricate motor mounts as needed.
