Job summary

Montgomery College, Rockville, is hiring Building Equipment Mechanic II to maintain boiler room systems, pumps, chillers, and related HVAC systems. Schedule: Monday–Friday, 6:30am–3:00pm; non-exempt, bargaining unit, grade 25.

Duties include responding to work orders, troubleshooting heating, cooling, plumbing and electrical issues, performing preventive maintenance, ordering parts, and documenting work in the database.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Five years of progressively responsible experience with commercial HVAC systems.
• MD Stationary Engineer 3rd Grade License and Section 608 Universal Certification required.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain boiler room equipment including pumps, boilers, water treatment, and chillers.
• Receive and respond to work orders for various buildings.
• Troubleshoot heating, cooling, potable water, and related issues.
• Perform preventive maintenance on HVAC systems and related equipment.
• Document progress in the work order database and order required parts.
