Job summary

Harris in Fredericksburg, VA is seeking an Assistant Project Manager to provide project management support during HVAC construction, ensuring standards, budget, deadlines and communications are maintained; you will help coordinate documentation, safety, procurement and field activities.

You will review drawings, submittals, RFIs, prepare logs, track progress and support closeout. A mechanical/construction background and strong teamwork and communication are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or related field preferred.
• 2+ years in building & construction industry.
• Strong understanding of mechanical systems.
• Ability to read and comprehend construction documents.
• Knowledge of design techniques, tools and principles.
• Understanding of business administration and management principles.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills in a team environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide project management support during all phases of HVAC construction.
• Review, organize and distribute contract documents and shop drawings.
• Draft, submit and track RFIs and responses.
• Attend field coordination meetings and distribute notes.
• Administer/update progress drawings and as-built drawings.
• Assist in project closeout documentation and punch lists.
• Coordinate with procurement and tracking of tool rentals.
• Assist in identification, tracking and reporting changes to scope.
