Job summary

Harris in Louisiana seeks an Assistant Project Manager to support HVAC construction projects, ensuring budgets, deadlines, and communications are maintained. You will manage safety compliance and coordinate with team and vendors.

You will assist in document control, RFIs, submittals, field coordination meetings, and project closeout documentation while tracking progress drawings and labor productivity.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Construction, or related field preferred.
• 2+ years in building and construction industry.
• Strong understanding of mechanical systems.
• Ability to read and comprehend construction documents.
• Knowledge of design techniques, tools and principles.
• Strong interpersonal skills and team-oriented communication.

Responsibilities

• Provide project management support during all phases of HVAC construction.
• Manage safety compliance and foster a culture of safety.
• Review, organize and distribute contract documents and submittals.
• Assist in drafting, submitting and tracking RFIs and their responses.
• Attend field coordination meetings and distribute notes.
• Assist in project closeout documentation including O&M manuals, startup reports and punch lists.
• Assist in identifying, tracking, and reporting changes to scope of work.
• Assist in management and tracking of tool and equipment rentals.
• Assist in tracking labor productivity in accounting software.
