Job summary

Johnson Controls Inc. is seeking motivated apprentices to join our growing team, gaining HVAC knowledge and hands-on experience at client sites.

You will train through the Service Technical Academy, learn to troubleshoot and address customer needs, and advance with guidance from mentors in a collaborative environment. There is a focus on safety, delivering efficient facility operation, and opportunities for career growth within a union-supported structure.

Qualifications

• Must be a member or willing to join the United Association of Journeymen and Apprentices of the Plumbing and Pipe Fitting Industry; AFL-CIO.
• 1+ years of industry experience or servicing mechanical HVAC systems.
• Knowledge of mechanical HVAC systems, facilities management, and installation/servicing techniques.
• Effective interpersonal skills to represent Johnson Controls professionally.
• Leadership to support technicians on non-complex HVAC jobs.
• Must have a valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Apprentices will be trained and perform on HVAC equipment and controls on client sites.
• Participate in Service Technical Academy training for skill development and advancement.
• Develop troubleshooting and customer-service skills with coaching and mentorship.
• Keep customers informed of job progress and issues.
• Meet union training attendance requirements in year one.
• Propose recommendations to improve facility efficiency and upsell where appropriate.
• Provide quotes to support recommendations.
