Job summary

Johnson Controls is seeking HVAC apprenticeship candidates to train on mechanical equipment and controls at client sites. You will participate in the Service Technical Academy and develop skills to troubleshoot both technical issues and customer needs.

You will communicate progress with customers and contractors, meet first-year union training requirements, and provide quotes and energy-efficiency recommendations to improve facility performance.

Qualifications

• Member or willing to join United Association of Journeymen and Apprentices of the Plumbing and Pipe Fitting Industry of the United States and Canada (UA).
• 1+ years of industry experience or servicing mechanical HVAC systems.
• Knowledge of mechanical HVAC systems, facilities management, site preparation and peripheral equipment installation/servicing.
• Strong interpersonal skills to represent Johnson Controls professionally.
• Leadership to support activities of mechanics on non-complex HVAC equipment.
• Self-starter able to work independently.
• Valid driver’s license required.

Responsibilities

• Apprentices will be trained and perform on HVAC mechanical equipment and controls on client sites.
• Participate in certified training through Service Technical Academy (STA).
• Develop skills to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues and customer needs.
• Keep Johnson Controls, contractors, and customers advised of job progress and issues.
• Meet attendance requirements for required Union training in the first year.
• Provide recommendations and solutions to improve facility efficiency and upsell opportunities.
• Provide quotes to support recommendations and solutions.
