Job summary

Johnson Controls is seeking HVAC apprentices to train and work on heating, ventilation, and air conditioning equipment at client sites. You will participate in Service Technical Academy training to build skills, with opportunities for recognition, monetary rewards, and advancement.

As a trusted adviser, you will provide solutions and quotes to improve facility efficiency while meeting union training requirements. A valid driver’s license is required for field work.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of industry experience or servicing mechanical HVAC systems.
• Must be a member or willing to join the union (UA of Journeymen and Apprentices of Plumbing and Pipe Fitting).
• Strong interpersonal skills to represent Johnson Controls professionally.
• Leadership skills to support mechanics on site.
• Self-starter who can work independently.
• Prioritize safety in all forms.
• Valid driver’s license required.
• Preferred: 1–2 years of trade school or college in a technical emphasis.

Responsibilities

• Apprentices will train and work on HVAC equipment and controls at client sites.
• Participate in Service Technical Academy (STA) training for skill development and advancement.
• Through coaching, develop troubleshooting and customer service abilities.
• Keep Johnson Controls, contractors, and customers updated on job progress.
• Meet attendance requirements for first-year union training.
• Provide recommendations and quotes to improve facility efficiency.
