Job summary

Johnson Controls Inc. is seeking forward-thinking apprentices to join our growing organization on customer sites, focusing on HVAC mechanical equipment and controls. You will be trained through the Service Technical Academy and gain hands-on experience while working with a collaborative team.

This Bargaining Unit position emphasizes safety, union qualification, and opportunities for advancement as you learn to service and optimize building systems.

Qualifications

• Must be a member or willing to join the United Association of Journeymen and Apprentices of the Plumbing and Pipe Fitting Industry of the United States and Canada, AFL-CIO.
• 1+ years of industry experience or experience in servicing mechanical systems in the HVAC industry.
• Generally required knowledge includes mechanical HVAC systems, facilities management systems, site preparation, peripheral equipment installation and servicing techniques.
• Effective interpersonal skills to properly represent Johnson Controls to customers and other outside contacts in an ethical and professional manner.
• Leadership skills to support the activities of Mechanics working on non-complex, non-critical mechanical HVAC equipment on a job site.
• Self-starter with ability to eventually work independently.

Responsibilities

• Apprentices will be trained and will perform on HVAC mechanical equipment and controls on client sites.
• Apprentices will participate in certified training through Service Technical Academy to build skills and opportunities for recognition and advancement.
• Through coaching and mentorship, apprentices will develop skills to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues and customer needs.
• Provide recommendations and solutions to ensure the facility runs efficiently and upsell opportunities.
• Provide quotes to support recommendations and solutions.
