Job summary

Trane Technologies in Louisville, KY is hiring for an Application Engineer II (Equipment) to drive equipment selection, pricing, and submittals for HVAC projects. You will validate sizes, configurations and options, review plans and estimates, and ensure cost-effective solutions while supporting sales and coordinating with vendors.

The role includes post-order technical support during installation, startup, and warranty, with a strong emphasis on teamwork, timely submittals, and competitive

Qualifications

• Minimum two years of experience in HVAC project management or estimating, or five years in HVAC project management/estimating without a 4-year degree.
• Familiarity with HVAC systems and temperature controls preferred.
• Willingness to work outside normal hours and travel as required.

Responsibilities

• Optimize/validate equipment selection, size, voltage, and options by reviewing plans and estimates.
• Evaluate cost savings and potential cost problems across projects.
• Validate project scope and quantities; plan EQ/VPP dollar breaks; update coordination worksheets.
• Support sales with preliminary/final submittals and coordinate submittal releases.
• Negotiate prices with vendors to optimize expenses for materials.
• Provide post-order technical support during installation, start-up, and warranty.
