Job summary

Trane Technologies is hiring an Application Engineer II (Equipment) in Fishers, IN. You will oversee equipment selection, pricing, and submittals while driving strategy and cost performance for project budgets.

The role supports sales, conducts cost analysis, negotiates with vendors, and ensures proper equipment readiness for order entry, including post-sale technical support and warranty activities.

Qualifications

• Degree in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 2+ years HVAC project management or estimating.
• Familiarity with HVAC systems or temperature controls preferred.
• Flexibility to work outside normal hours.

Responsibilities

• Optimize/validate equipment selection (size, configuration, voltage, options).
• Evaluate cost savings and cost problems across projects.
• Validate project scope with plans, specs, and quantities; plan EQ/VPP dollars and configurations.
• Support sales with preliminary/final submittals and participate in cost consensus.
• Negotiate prices with vendors to optimize expenses for materials.
• Prepare equipment for order entry, verify pricing, and reconcile job costs.
• Provide post-order technical support during installation, startup and warranty.
