Job summary

MasTec, Inc. is hiring an Electrical Technician II to maintain and construct high voltage electrical systems at substations and wind farms across the US.

This role involves extensive travel and a safety-first mindset to ensure work is completed correctly the first time. You will work around wind turbines, perform preventative maintenance on switchgear, transformers, and cabling up to 34.5 kV, and collaborate with clients and team members daily.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum 2 years' experience in electrical industry; 1 year in maintenance or with degree/certificate.
• Valid Driver's License.
• Ability to read, interpret, and understand basic drawings and schematics.

Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance/construction on electrical systems up to 34.5 kV.
• Work around wind turbines and substations while interfacing with customers and coworkers.
• Attend safety meetings and complete safety paperwork daily.
• Diagnose faults to prevent unexpected outages and test electrical components.
• Operate line locates, splice cable, and swap pad mount transformers.
• Use power tools and follow LOTO safety protocols.
