Job summary

WSP USA is seeking a Field Services professional to perform testing, commissioning, and troubleshooting of high voltage protection and control systems across substations. You will operate relay test sets, document site activities, and support field teams while maintaining safety and quality standards.

Based in Florida or the Carolinas, the role requires strong problem-solving skills, ability to read electrical drawings, and up to 80% travel to field sites.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of 7 years of experience in the electrical testing industry, including HV/MV testing.
• Expertise with transmission, generation, and distribution relays and protective schemes.
• Relay calibration and testing with Omicron CMC 256/356 and Doble F6150.
• Experience with NETA, IEEE, and NFPA standards.
• Proficiency in reading electrical drawings and using testing software.
• Willingness to travel up to 80% and work in field conditions.

Responsibilities

• Perform testing and commissioning tasks for Protection and Control systems on high voltage substations.
• Carry out on-site protective relay testing using specified relay test sets.
• Document site activities using field forms and digital tools.
• Assist Project Lead or Field Supervisor and mentor junior technicians.
• Maintain logs, photos, and labels with attention to detail.
• Collaborate with contractors and engineers to ensure safety and quality.
