GE Vernova, Inc. is seeking an Electrical Project Engineer - Substation to lead HV/EHV substation design tasks within a multidisciplinary team in the United States.

The role involves developing layouts, plans, BOMs, bus and grounding arrangements, and coordinating with protection, control, and sourcing groups. The ideal candidate has a BS in Electrical Engineering, power systems design experience, and willingness to travel internationally.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited university.
• Work experience in power systems engineering and design.
• Ability and willingness to travel, including internationally, in compliance with company travel and tax policies.

Responsibilities

• Execute technical tasks for AC substation projects under the guidance of a Lead Engineer.
• Develop high voltage substation layouts, plans, elevations, BOMs and equipment arrangements.
• Perform engineering calculations related to substation design.
• Coordinate with other disciplines (SLDs, schematics, relay protection).
• Write specifications for HV equipment and prepare material purchase requests.
• Evaluate vendor quotations for substation equipment (circuit breakers, switchgear, transformers, cables).
• Resolve technical issues with customer and project manager.
• Collaborate to maintain project budget and schedule.
• Interface with cross-functional stakeholders and support teams.
• Support proposal development with technical clarifications and estimates.
• Contribute to engineering automation and quality initiatives.
