Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited university.
• Minimum of 12 years of experience in industrial or utility High Voltage substation design (+138kV).
• Ability and willingness to travel up to 20% (including international).

Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate all technical aspects of AC power substation projects, including self-perform of design.
• Serve as primary technical lead for scheduling, standards compliance, value engineering, design review planning, QA/QC.
• Develop and oversee design deliverables such as power single-line diagrams, general substation layouts, and HV bus/equipment arrangements.
• Act as single point of contact for technical matters between customers, vendors, PMs, and engineering teams.
• Direct and support engineers and designers to meet specs, budget, and timelines, including sub-contracted resources.
• Drive cross-discipline coordination for integrated substations.
• Review and contribute to proposals (conceptual engineering, BOMs, specifications).
• Lead preparation of high-voltage equipment specs and contractor scopes; support vendor engagement.
• Assist manager in ensuring team productivity and billable utilization.
• Ensure outputs meet CTQs and are delivered on time and within budget.
• Support commissioning and interface efforts with customers.
