Hanson Professional Services, Inc. is seeking an Electrical Engineer specializing in medium- and high-voltage systems in Louisville, KY.

You will design HV distribution for renewable projects and support traditional HV transmissionWork to produce construction drawings, studies, and specifications up to 200 kV, collaborating with cross-disciplinary teams. You should have a BS in Electrical Engineering, PE licensure or near-term licensure, and 5+ years in consulting HV design.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering.
• Licensure as a Professional Engineer (PE) or ability to obtain within six months.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in consulting with a focus on medium- and high-voltage power system design.
• Experience preparing electrical construction drawings, specifications, submittal reviews, and construction administration for power projects.
• Graduate degree, professional registrations, or publication experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Design medium- and high-voltage power distribution and management systems for renewable energy projects (solar, wind, BESS, EV charging, microgrids).
• Perform traditional transmission and distribution design, both underground and overhead.
• Prepare detailed construction packages, 15kV to 200kV, including diagrams and substation layouts.
• Conduct QA/QC reviews to ensure compliance with standards.
• Provide technical support to field personnel for systems up to 200kV.
• Perform electrical studies (short-circuit, arc flash, load flow, etc.).
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams across offices.
• Travel occasionally for client meetings and site reviews.
