Job summary

Hanson Professional Services Inc. is seeking an Electrical Engineer to design medium- and high-voltage power systems for renewable energy projects, including substations and distribution networks.

You will prepare specifications, drawings, and construction packages up to 200 kV and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams. The position requires PE licensure or the ability to obtain it within six months, and 5+ years of consulting experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering required.
• PE licensure or ability to obtain within six months required.
• Minimum of 5 years of consulting experience with medium- and high-voltage power systems.
• Experience preparing electrical construction drawings, specs, submittals, and construction administration for power projects.
• Graduate degree, professional registrations, or publication experience are preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Design medium- and high-voltage power distribution and management systems for renewable energy projects (solar, wind, BESS, EV charging, microgrids).
• Prepare specifications, calculations, drawings, and full construction packages for systems up to 200 kV.
• Conduct QA/QC reviews to ensure compliance with standards.
• Provide technical support to field personnel for HV systems.
• Perform electrical studies (short-circuit, arc flash, load flow, etc.).
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and coordinate with other offices.
• Participate in project management tasks and client meetings.
• Mentor engineering and design personnel within the Power Market team.
