The Opportunity

We’re seeking an HR Specialist – Talent Acquisition & Recruitment who will play a central role in finding and onboarding the right people to power our mission. You’ll bring your creativity, organization, and knowledge of inclusive hiring practices to every stage of recruitment—from job posting to onboarding. If you’re energized by building strong teams, engaging with the DC community, and helping candidates feel welcomed and valued, this role is for you.

What You’ll Do

  1. Manage full-cycle recruitment for all roles, with a focus on DEI, candidate experience, and alignment with AoH values.
  2. Develop and post compelling job ads and collaborate with hiring managers to craft equitable screening tools.
  3. Build pipelines through local partnerships, events, job boards, and professional networks.
  4. Oversee applicant tracking workflows in Paycom; ensure compliance with employment laws.
  5. Guide candidates through the interview, offer, and onboarding process with transparency and care.
  6. Monitor recruitment metrics and recommend improvements to enhance hiring outcomes.

What You Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in HR, Business, or related field.
  • 2–5+ years of experience in recruitment/talent acquisition (Level II/III).
  • Experience with applicant tracking systems (Paycom strongly preferred).
  • Knowledge of EEO/ADA/FCRA/compliance in hiring.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • SHRM-CP or recruitment-specific certification preferred.
  • DC-based or willing to work on-site as needed.
