Job summary

Sunrise Senior Living is seeking an HR Manager to lead all HR operations across the community in Long Beach. You will guide recruitment, payroll, benefits and employee engagement, partnering with the Executive Director and leaders to ensure regulatory compliance and workforce excellence.

The role requires a Bachelor's degree and 3+ years of HR generalist and leadership experience, with strong knowledge of employment laws, confidential information handling, and proficiency in MS Office and HR

• Bachelor's degree required.
• 3-5 years HR generalist experience (senior living, healthcare or hospitality preferred).
• 3+ years supervisory/leadership experience.
• Strong knowledge of employment law and compliance practices.

Responsibilities

• Lead full-cycle recruitment, hiring and onboarding processes.
• Provide guidance on team member relations, performance management and coaching.
• Oversee payroll processing, timekeeping and benefits administration.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state/provincial and company employment laws.
• Maintain personnel files, HRIS data and required postings.
• Manage workers' compensation and OSHA compliance initiatives.
• Monitor performance evaluations, merit increases and engagement planning.
• Support annual budgeting and labor management strategies.
• Deliver HR training and Sunrise University program oversight.
• Partner with leadership to drive retention, accountability and team success.
