Job summary

Frazer Jones (US) is seeking an experienced Human Resources Generalist to join its HR team in a hybrid capacity in Roseland, NJ. The role covers compliance, benefits administration, employee relations, HR operations, recruiting, onboarding, and HR systems, working closely with HR leadership and business stakeholders.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.
  • 5-7 years progressive HR experience, preferably within a law firm, professional services, or similar corporate environment.
  • SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, or SPHR certification preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of: Employment law and HR compliance, Benefits and leave administration, Employee relations, HR policies and procedures, Recruiting and onboarding processes, HRIS platforms and HR technology.
  • Experience with HR systems such as Dayforce, AbsenceSoft, ATS platforms, or equivalent is advantageous.

Responsibilities

  • Support HR compliance initiatives, including policy administration, employment law tracking, mandatory training programmes, and process updates.
  • Assist with maintaining employee handbooks, HR procedures, forms, communications, and record retention practices.
  • Manage employment verification and onboarding compliance processes, including I-9 administration and documentation.
  • Maintain labour law postings and regulatory requirements across multiple jurisdictions.
  • Ensure employee records and HRIS data are accurate and up to date.
  • Support audits, reporting, and ongoing HR process improvement initiatives.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams including Payroll, Finance, Legal, Recruiting, Professional Development, and HR Operations.
  • Assist with recruiting and onboarding efforts, including interview scheduling, candidate screening, orientation coordination, and administrative support.
  • Support HR technology platforms, reporting requirements, audits, and special projects.
  • Contribute to initiatives focused on operational excellence and continuous improvement.

About the Opportunity

A highly regarded national law firm is seeking an experienced Human Resources Generalist to join its HR team in a hybrid capacity. This role offers broad exposure across all areas of human resources, including compliance, benefits administration, employee relations, HR operations, recruiting, onboarding, and HR systems. The successful candidate will work closely with HR leadership and business stakeholders to support employees and ensure HR processes are delivered effectively, consistently, and in compliance with applicable regulations.

Key Responsibilities
HR Compliance & Administration
  • Support HR compliance initiatives, including policy administration, employment law tracking, mandatory training programmes, and process updates.
  • Assist with maintaining employee handbooks, HR procedures, forms, communications, and record retention practices.
  • Manage employment verification and onboarding compliance processes, including I-9 administration and documentation.

Benefits, Leave & Employee Support
  • Assist with benefits administration, employee communications, open enrolment activities, vendor coordination, and issue resolution.
  • Support leave administration activities, including FMLA, disability, paid family leave, workers' compensation, and related compliance requirements.
  • Serve as a point of contact for employee and manager HR enquiries, providing guidance on policies, benefits, and general HR matters.
  • Document employee relations matters and elevate sensitive issues when appropriate.
  • Support firm-wide wellness, retirement, and employee engagement initiatives.
Recruiting, Onboarding & HR Operations

  • Strong knowledge of:

  • Strong organisational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • High level of discretion when handling confidential information.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Interest in leveraging AI and productivity tools to improve processes and efficiency.
Compensation
  • Competitive salary in the $90,000-$105,000 range, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
