Job summary

Brown Immigration Law is seeking an experienced HR Generalist to partner with leaders, manage the full employee lifecycle, and build an engaging, compliant workplace. You'll drive talent attraction, onboarding, performance management, and employee relations while embracing evolving HR technology.

This role owns HR systems administration, benefits coordination, and policy documentation, with a focus on data accuracy and confidentiality.

Qualifications

  • 2-4 years of HR Generalist experience

Responsibilities

  • Manage the full employee lifecycle including recruiting, onboarding, performance management, employee relations, investigations, and offboarding.
  • Administer and maintain HRIS/HCM and ATS, employee records, and HR documentation while ensuring data accuracy and confidentiality.
  • Coordinate employee benefits administration, compensation audits, bonus calculations, liability insurance, and other total rewards programs.
  • Partner with leaders to support performance management, workforce planning, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, including FMLA, COBRA, and company policies.
  • Review, track, and maintain required training, policy acknowledgements, and compliance documentation.
  • Support employee engagement by coordinating wellness initiatives, recognition programs, and company events with the Employee Engagement Committee.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for employee and manager HR inquiries, providing guidance and escalating complex matters as appropriate.
  • Stay current on HR best practices, employment law, recruitment trends, and emerging HR technology to recommend process improvements.
  • Represent the firm at college recruiting events and career fairs to attract top talent.
  • Administer the firm's hybrid work program and other HR initiatives that support organizational effectiveness.
  • Manage hourly employees' timesheets.

Qualifications to be successful:
Required
  • 2-4 years of HR Generalist experience
  • Exceptional interpersonal, communication, and conflict resolution skills
  • Ability to manage and handle sensitive, confidential information
  • Bachelor's degree in human resources or business administration
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel
  • Proficient with or ability to quickly learn and master the organization's HCM and ATS systems
  • Highly dependable and able to handle multiple projects simultaneously
  • Excellent planning and organizational skills
  • A positive attitude, rivaled only by a passion for helping others
Preferred
  • Prior experience with FMLA and COBRA requirements
  • SHRM-CP a plus
Benefits and Compensation

Salary: $70,000 - $80,000 adjusted based on experience and other job-related factors.

Eligible benefits include: annual bonus, 401(k) plan, affordable health and vision plans, free dental, life, and disability coverages, health savings account, and 25 days paid time off, and 8 paid holidays.
