Job description

HR Generalist – Contingent Employee Relations

Location: Remote (Arizona-based)

We’re seeking an experienced HR Generalist who thrives in a fast-paced, high-accountability environment and brings strong judgment, empathy, and critical thinking to every conversation. In this role, you’ll support our U.S. and Canadian contingent workforce, providing hands-on guidance in employee relations, leave management, compliance, and HR service delivery.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage daily case intake through the HR service inbox and respond with clarity, care, and compliance.
  • Lead contingent employee relations conversations, including coaching, performance feedback, and assignment end discussions.
  • Navigate sensitive issues with professionalism using conflict resolution and de-escalation strategies.
  • Administer FMLA, ADA, and personal leave requests, ensuring policy alignment and legal compliance.
  • Support the HR Manager with intake and investigatory interviews related to associate or client concerns.
  • Serve as a trusted resource to recruiters, operations, and client services on policy guidance and employment practices.
  • Maintain thorough, compliant documentation in our CRM and HRIS platforms.
  • Collaborate with Payroll to resolve HR/payroll inquiries quickly and accurately.
  • Intake workers’ compensation cases, submit claims, and support return-to-work coordination.
  • Participate in HR projects, audits, and continuous improvement efforts.

Skills & Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, or a related field
  • 2+ years of progressive HR experience, with a focus on employee relations and leave management
  • Bilingual in Spanish is a plus
  • Strong understanding of multi-state employment laws; California employment law experience is highly desired
  • Proven ability to manage conflict and coach employees toward positive, compliant outcomes
  • High emotional intelligence with strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Comfortable operating in a fast-paced, high-change environment with shifting priorities
  • Excellent judgment, attention to detail, and the ability to balance empathy with business needs
  • Experience in PEO, staffing, or MSP/VMS environments preferred
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint)
