About The Role

We are seeking a full-time HR Generalist to support core human resource functions in a fully remote environment. Reporting to the Director of Human Resources, this role plays a pivotal part in benefits administration, leave coordination, compliance monitoring, onboarding, and supporting employees across 30+ U.S. states. The ideal candidate will be well-versed in multi-state employment law and comfortable operating in a remote-first setting.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a multi-state HR role.
  • 3–5 years of payroll experience.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; college-level education preferred.
  • Experience with Paylocity or similar HRIS platforms strongly preferred.
  • California HR experience is a plus.
  • Proficiency with Google Workspace and ability to learn new tools quickly.
  • Strong understanding of federal, state, and local employment laws.
  • Excellent communication, organization, and time-management skills.
  • High level of professionalism, confidentiality, and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure compliance with HR policies and state-specific employment regulations.
  • Administer employee benefits, support open enrollment, and resolve related issues.
  • Manage leave requests, including FMLA, state leave, and internal policies.
  • Support onboarding/offboarding processes and documentation.
  • Maintain accurate employee records, including benefits and demographic data.
  • Respond to employee inquiries and guide them to relevant policies and resources.
  • Assist with employee relations, training coordination, and routine audits.
  • Collaborate with payroll and benefit vendors to resolve discrepancies.
  • Serve as a backup to the Payroll Specialist.
  • Provide general administrative support for various HR functions.
