Job Description:
About the Role
The Employee Relations Specialist will independently manage ER cases and plays a lead role in resolving complex employee relations matters, supporting leaders through escalated team challenges, and driving policy alignment across functions. You’ll be responsible for assessing risk, conducting independent investigations, and advising stakeholders on appropriate interventions—especially in situations with operational impact or reputational sensitivity, but which fall below the legal threshold for ER escalation.

  • Conduct structured fact-finding processes, interviews, and workplace assessments where appropriate.
  • Identify patterns or systemic issues and collaborate on mitigation strategies, including process changes or policy updates.
  • Provide ER coaching to people leaders, including how to manage employee conflict, provide feedback, or handle difficult conversations.
  • Support ER-related training efforts and mentor Level 4 ER Specialists on best practices in case handling.

We’re excited about you because…
  • You have a BA/BS and 4+ years of experience in employee relations, human resources, conflict resolution, or workplace compliance. You have experience handling employee relations matters and guiding employees and managers through workplace concerns.
  • You are highly organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to track and manage multiple cases simultaneously.
  • You are an excellent communicator, able to explain policies and case outcomes clearly to various stakeholders.
  • You are solution-oriented, balancing business needs with employee fairness and compliance considerations.
  • You are adaptable and thrive in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
  • You have experience working with case management systems or HR technology tools.

Nice to Haves:
  • HR or ER certifications (e.g., SHRM-CP, PHR) Experience working in a fast-paced, high-growth environment (e.g., tech/startup experience)
  • Familiarity with employment laws and best practices in employee relations
  • Previous experience conducting training or coaching managers on workplace policies.
