Job summary

Westlake seeks an experienced HSE leader to plan, direct and manage health, safety and environmental programs for North American sites. You will drive HSE strategy, lead steering teams, and ensure compliance with federal, state, and international regulations while reducing risk profiles and raising employee awareness.

Responsibilities include developing policies, budgeting, incident analysis, and serving as expert on HSE issues across manufacturing sites.

Qualifications

• BS Degree in Occupational Safety and Health, Environmental Science, Chemistry with 10 years of experience.
• Knowledgeable of regulatory compliance laws (OSHA 1910 – General Industry, OSHA 1926 – Construction, Industrial Hygiene Regulations) and/or Environmental Regulations.
• Experience with change management – implementation of new policies/procedures valuable.

Responsibilities

• Uses expert knowledge to drive the development of HSE policies and guidelines.
• Leads a team of HSE professionals ensuring compliance with laws and regulations.
• Acts as internal authority on changes in federal, state, and international laws for HSE.
• Stays abreast of emerging HSE issues and reports to Sr. Management.
• Authoring of HSE procedures and policies.
• Support and facilitate HSE budget; develop strategies per regulations.
• Analyze incidents and make recommendations based on data trends.
• Provide guidance in regulatory compliance for preventive and remedial programs.
• Offer health risk assessment advice for operations and projects.
