Job summary

Westlake Chemical is seeking an experienced HSE Director to plan, direct and manage health, safety and environmental programs for the Westlake Business Segment(s) in North America. The role focuses on reducing site risk and raising employee awareness while guiding an HSE management steering team and direct reports across North America.

You will provide expert support on regulatory compliance, incident analysis and health risk assessments, and you will champion policy development and budget

Qualifications

• BS degree with 10 years of experience in HSE.
• Knowledgeable of OSHA 1910 and 1926 and environmental regulations.
• Experience with change management and policy implementation.
• Strong facilitation, interpersonal and communication abilities.
• Able to manage multiple projects and lead teams.

Responsibilities

• Uses expert knowledge to drive HSE policies, standards and guidelines.
• Leads a team of HSE professionals aligning activities with laws and regulations.
• Monitors changes in federal, state and international regulations.
• Provides technical analysis and reporting to Sr. Management.
• Authoring HSE procedures and policies.
• Supports HSE budget development and expenditure.
• Analyzes incidents and recommends improvements.
• Provides guidance on health risk assessments and controls.
• May serve as expert witness on health and safety matters.
• Reviews audits and provides leadership to colleagues.
