Job summary

Westlake Chemical seeks an experienced HSE leader to plan, direct, and manage health, safety and environmental programs for North America. The role focuses on developing HSE strategies and ensuring implementation across sites, reducing risks and raising employee awareness.

You will lead HSE steering teams, support smaller sites, oversee budgets, and advise Sr. Management with data analysis and regulatory interpretation. Travel may be required.

Qualifications

• BS Degree in Occupational Safety and Health, Environmental Science or Chemistry with 10 years of experience.
• Knowledgeable of OSHA and Environmental Regulations and regulatory compliance laws.
• Experience with change management and policy implementation.
• Strong facilitation and communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and lead teams.

Responsibilities

• Develops and directs HSE policies, standards, and operating guidelines.
• Leads a team of HSE professionals ensuring compliance with laws and site regulations.
• Interprets regulatory changes and provides guidance to management.
• Produces data analyses on incidents and near misses to inform improvements.
• Oversees budget planning for HSE activities and audits.
• Provides expert health risk assessments and engineering controls recommendations.
