Sysco is seeking an Operating Company safety professional in San Francisco to aid the implementation of prevention-focused health, safety and environmental (HSE) and security programs. The role supports OpCo-specific project implementation and training aligned with Sysco’s HSE objectives.

The position involves coordinating training, maintaining safety records, inspecting facilities, and participating in investigations to address root causes and drive corrective actions.

Formación

• Associate’s degree or OSHA certification (or both).
• 2+ years of safety experience in warehousing, manufacturing or transportation.
• OSHA certifications preferred.
• Must possess a valid Driver’s License.
• Strong analytical and communication skills.

Responsabilidades

• Complete new hire orientation training programs as assigned by the Safety Director.
• Maintain records for safety programs (training logs, reports, inspections).
• Implement and train new or existing training programs provided by Safety Director to employees and supervision.
• Inspect facilities to detect unsafe conditions.
• Participate in investigations on vehicle accidents and injuries.
• Identify root causes and help supervision develop corrective actions.
• Engage associates to follow safe work methods in daily tasks.
• Complete observations and coaching of high-risk associates as needed.
• Monitor equipment inspections to detect failures and recommend corrective measures.
• Support site management in implementing HSE plans.
• Promote a proactive safety culture in the workplace.
• Provide supervisor and management training on root cause analysis.
• Interface with OSHA, DOT, EPA and local regulators in the Safety Director’s absence.
• Assist with annual company-wide HSE training plan.
• Develop interdepartmental relationships and demonstrate strong problem-solving, organizational and analytical skills.
