Job summary

Sysco is seeking an HSE-focused professional to help implement prevention-oriented health, safety and environmental programs at an OpCo-based site. You will support security and crisis preparedness objectives and promote OpCo-specific project training to align with Sysco's HSE goals.

The role requires the ability to perform risk assessments, lead training, and maintain thorough safety records while engaging with regulatory bodies and internal teams. A valid driver’s license is required.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree and/or OSHA-certified safety experience.
• 2+ years safety experience in warehousing, manufacturing or transportation.
• Must possess a valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Complete new hire orientation training programs as assigned by the Safety Director.
• Maintain records for safety programs (training logs, reports, inspections).
• Implement and train new or existing safety programs provided by Safety Director.
• Inspect facilities to detect unsafe conditions.
• Participate in investigations on vehicle accidents and injuries.
• Assist with root cause analysis and corrective actions.
• Coach associates on proper work methods.
• Monitor equipment inspections and recommend improvements.
• Support site management in HSE plan implementation.
• Promote a proactive safety culture at the workplace.
• Provide supervisor training on root cause analysis.
• Interface with OSHA, DOT, EPA and regulators in the Safety Director's absence.
• Contribute to annual company-wide HSE training planning.
• Develop interdepartmental relationships and demonstrate leadership.
