Job summary

Sysco is seeking an operating company Safety/Health & Environmental (HSE) professional in New Orleans to support the implementation of prevention-focused safety programs and security initiatives. The role will promote project execution and training aligned with Sysco’s HSE objectives.

The position involves coordinating training, maintaining safety records, inspecting facilities, and partnering with management to drive corrective actions while fostering a proactive safety culture across site

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree and/or OSHA-certified safety experience.
• 2+ years direct hands-on safety in warehousing, manufacturing or transportation.
• 2+ years safety experience preferred for Occupational Safety.

Responsibilities

• Assist with implementing prevention-focused HSE and security programs.
• Maintain safety records, logs, reports and inspections.
• Develop and train safety programs for employees and supervision.
• Inspect facilities for unsafe conditions and assist in root-cause analysis.
• Support site management in HSE plan implementation and training.
• Interface with OSHA, DOT, EPA and local regulators as needed.
• Promote a zero-incident safety culture and provide leadership training on root-cause analysis.
