Job summary

The Colorado Department of Corrections is seeking an HR Technician III to support the System and Records Unit in Colorado Springs. The role emphasizes accurate personnel actions, onboarding support, and data integrity across HR systems.

You will interact with applicants, managers, and staff to ensure timely processing and high-quality service. Candidates should have 3 years of technical/clerical work, strong computer skills, and the ability to communicate clearly.

Qualifications

• Three (3) years of technical or high-level clerical experience.
• College coursework in Criminal Justice, Sociology, Psychology, Business Administration or related field may substitute for the required experience (year-for-year).
• Strong computer skills and ability to work with HR systems and databases (e.g., HRMES, CPPS, DCIS).
• Excellent verbal and written communication; customer service oriented.

Responsibilities

• Process personnel actions and new-hire documentation for the System and Records Unit.
• Support onboarding and new employee setup with efficient customer service.
• Monitor and ensure accuracy of HR data across multiple systems.
• Assist with data verification, reporting, and file maintenance.
• Provide information to stakeholders regarding employment dates, salary, and job titles.
